Matt's early morning proposal on the rooftop of the couple's Chicago condo was just the beginning of that "on top of the world" feeling for Shannon. The couple planned a far-flung destination wedding in the U.S. Virgin Islands, with 21 of their closest friends and family.

Shannon and Matt, both graduates of the University of Missouri, met for the first time at a Mizzou football game. After a few years of dating, Matt decided Shannon was the one. "He proposed over coffee on a Friday before work!" Shannon laughs. It wasn't long before the couple decided they wanted a destination wedding -- and for them, the U.S. Virgin Islands was the ideal locale. "We have best friends in St. John and we'd visited them before," Shannon explains. "It was the obvious choice." With the help of their island pals and a USVI wedding planner, Stacy Mulcare of Ceremonies of St. John, Shannon and Matt planned a sweet celebration amid the lush natural beauty of St. John.
